So you want to be a distributor? My top tips:

We are always looking to expand our distributor chain and make our products available to a wider audience. We work closely with our distributors in order to provide the best experience possible to them and respectively their customers. Having this in mind we are here to present you tips for becoming a successful distributor of SBi Group.

If you think you have what it takes to join the SBi Group family book an introduction meeting and let’s discuss.

Tip #1 Background check

The first key tip is in regard to the so-called “background check”. What does this mean? Firstly not everyone can become a distributor just like that. You need to have a background in the industry – some prior experience. This can relate to a lot of things. You should have worked with machinery or been an architect, able to read schematics etc. Of course, the best approach is knowledge, to have professional expertise in our field.

Tip #2 Location

Have a plan! You need to know how big of an area you want to cover. Are we talking about a city or a wider region? Do you plan an expansion in the near future? Those are questions that need answers even before starting. Your location parameters need to be set in order for you to work properly and efficiently.

Tip #3 Big picture

As we stated before you need to have an objective judgement of your capabilities. This means you need to have figured out the area that you will be covering. Be realistic, you don’t want to spend most of your time and funds on travelling. Take into account the number of people that you employ. Do they have the right tools to complete the job? Are they going to be enough for fitting multiple doors simultaneously? What is your current business fleet count? There are a lot of things you need to consider before diving into this venture.

Tip #4 Targets

Being a distributor is a serious task. You can’t just go to your supplier and say “Hi, I am your new distributor”. It doesn’t work like that. You need to be prepared, to have a plan in advance. When you talk to your prospective supplier, you need to discuss a lot of things regarding both of your businesses. A supplier will want you to have targets and be able to meet those yearly goals.

Tip #5 Professionalism

Last but not least, professionalism is an equally significant aspect of a lasting and successful partnership. This means that after you or your employees have done all the training courses from SBi Group & Somfy your installations need to be precise. Your customer service needs to be top-notch. The end customer has to be informed and happy with his final decision. All of this depends on how knowledgeable you & your team are.

Tip #6 Hear it from a colleague
