Warranty Information

Warranty Period

The purchaser is contracted a full warranty that covers the safe and reliable functions of SBI Group’s garage and roller shutter doors for a period of 5 years commencing the date of purchase. The warranty period for the replacement of garage and roller shutter doors begins after a purchase is made.

The purchaser is given a 5 year guarantee from the date of purchase on the springs, wire cables, track rollers, hinges and guide rollers of garage doors in normal use, whereby normal use constitutes no more than 5 door operations (open/ close) per day).

The door mechanism and steel frame (if applicable) is covered by the 5-year limited* warranty period. Requirements Warranty claims are only applicable in the country where the garage door was purchased. The product must have been purchased through our authorised distribution channels. The limited warranty only covers damage to the contract object. The fully completed warranty card together with the receipt of purchase correspondingly dated substantiates your right to claim under the warranty.

How to Maintain your Door

Always consult an SBI Group specialist if there is any uncertainty in the maintenance of our products. We have developed a strong relationship with various installation companies in various locations that are able to offer a regular maintenance service for one of many of our products. Please refer to the SBI Group International Ltd. website for additional maintenance details and information on installers near you.

Additional maintenance of garage doors and roller shutter doors includes the following:

  • Keep the running tracks clean (do not apply grease to the running tracks)
  • Springs should be replaced after approximately 15,000 cycles
  • Do not apply oil products on the locks
  • Clean door with water and mild-soap once a year

We recommend that the above mentioned maintenance should be conducted after every 5,000 cycles of the door (open/close) and/or at least once a year.

The door and frame (if present) should be washed with a mild soap-based solution regularly to prevent residue buildup (salt, dirt, and other corrosive substances) and help maintain the aesthetic appearance of the product. If the product is installed alongside a salt based body of water, the above mentioned cleaning process should be conducted at least every two months. SBI Group recommends the cleanup of all other components on a regular basis to prevent residue buildup as well.

Corrosive substances such as acids, alkalines, salts, etc. should be cleaned off the product on a regular basis. Failure to do so will result in deterioration of the finish, and thus will not be covered under SBI Group’s full warranty. If the product is within the warranty period and you would like to have it repainted, please contact SBI Group for further information on repainting the garage door. Failure to do so, will result in the termination of the warranty.

Steel & Aluminum Roller Doors

SBI Group roller steel and aluminum doors are a powder coated finished product and do not require immediate re-painting. They are resistant to damage that can occur at any given time through the product lifecycle. Minor surface damage can be easily repaired through the use of touch up sprays or sticks without impacting the warranty of the product. For further protection against minor surface damages, we always have our steel door products poly-wrapped at the factory prior to installation. SBI Group garage and roller shutter doors require little maintenance and preparation prior to installation to ensure years of trouble-free functionality.
